United States of Hardcore
One of the better records to come from Blatant Beats lately this is a solid LP that should get a relatively warm reception if played at parties. Jump to the Groove starts off by bringing the funk with lots of pianos both rolling in the introduction and remaining as a steady fixture in the background during the first (house-y like) breakdown. In fact the pianos remain all the way until the second breakdown which is where the fun really is. The whole track is accented by the repetitive but non-intrusive “Ohhs” sung by some type of house-like singer. Do It Again is a relatively simple track which is by no means a bad thing. The track is definitely more about the highs then the lows with a protruding (and memorable) synth pattern layered over a somewhat subdued baseline. The lyrical hook is done nicely and is used to accent the music rather then being the central focus. This track won’t be your floor burner but it is a solid tune.
