Helter Skelter Vs Raindance - Rave Nation The Anthems (Ministry of Sound)

The latest Helter Skelter album is upon us, and this time its covering the whole history of rave....so, what can you expect, lets have a look shall we?

CD 1 is a mix of oldskool classics, remixed classics, remixed house bits, and a few new ravebreaks tracks. When I say mix I really mean it too. This isn't a cd of 17 tracks mixed at the obvious mix points, its a proper MIX of 27 tracks.Classics like Far Out and Don't Go, sit alongside ravebreaks remixes of Trip to Trumpton and Dirty Cash. Also given the reavebreaks tratment are some newer classics such as Let me think about it and The Creeps (Get on the dancefloor). All in all, cd1 is not olny a good example of the ravebreaks sound, but also brings in the feeling of this history of rave idea. From tis cd I am especially liking :
Let me think about it, Ease the pressure, I can't stop, Always there, Now is the time, Feel Real 2008 and of course Living in Darkness.

CD 2 is the bestest Drum and Bass anthems in the world EVER! Too many classics to name on this cd, each track is a total killer that you WILL know. Again, this is a MIX...not just a collection of tracks. 30 tracks squeezed onto this cd, all experty stuck together by Nicky Black Market. There are some newer classics on there too, keping the History of rave vibe going. Great cd. Love all of it.

CD 3 is the hardcore cd. 22 tracks on this one. Again, the history of rave vibe is present with new tracks sitting alongside new remixes of classic oldskool tracks, and modern classics. It's great to see some of the more under-used people on this cd.. Darwin, Technikore, GEOS, Flyin and CLSM etc. Standout tracks for me on this cd are : Waiting 4, Miracle, Break up, All about, Feel devotion, Cry your tears, Life force....heck...it's all good.

To sum up.. One of the most varied compilations out in recent times. Good stuff. Out 26th Dec 2007
