United Dance 4th-Feb-2000

More of a moan than a review this, but the lack of organisation at Bagleys put a big downer on the whole night. I am a relatively new raver, having only been going for about a year now, but UD was easily the most disappointing rave I have attended so far.

Having only decided to go at the last minute, we booked our tickets by credit card. We also knew that this way we could get in through a guest list queue instead of the ordinary mile long queue. When asked if we had tickets we explained that we had ordered by credit card and were then herded into a queue which was not too big. Half and hour later and the queue hadn't moved, so I decided to go to the front and have a word. After explaining that we had tickets, we were allowed in straight away. If we knew about this before we started queueing it would have saved a bit of time. The queue organisation was really bad.

Then the queue pre-search. The only highlight of waiting for over an hour standing shoulder to shoulder with everyone was when we all began to chant "Let us in". I don't know if anyone else was there at this time, but this gave me some hope, and I have to admit the queue started to move a little quicker after this!

Then the cloakroom queue. As above, it was too long, too crowded and too slow moving. I rarely resort to violence, but I swear I was too close to jumping over the counter and twatting the bloke hanging the coats. He was (I swear deliberately) taking absolutely ages on each jacket. When he was asked to hurry up because people were suffocating in the queue, he merely shrugged his shoulders and complained that he had been working for 5 hours. What a nob, I had been working all day, driven to London and queued for fucking ages, and he was standing there doing nothing.

Anyway, moan over, the night was good, even though it finished too early (after spent half the night queueing - we got in at 2), but I can't help but feel there was a little downer on the night because of the poor organisation.

Big up to Hux, Ali and Roz.

Respect,

Jermaine.
