Atomic Jam 5th Birthday Bash 19th-Aug-2000

Well, what can I say. My second techno/Hard trance night recently, and yet again, I was completely blown away by the level of effort put in to the night.

Met up with Conrad, Happy J, Sam and his mate (sorry, I still cant remember your name;) and literally as the train was leaving, peachy joined us =) We got into Birmingham (met chedda) and walked to the club to find an already huge queue waiting

The venue previously was a nunnery, which made it a venue, ideal for getting lost, with the endless walkways, and spooky rooms. The main room, hosting a night of pure Techno was the largest, and had the pulpit converted so the DJs could play from there, talk about amazing. There must have been over 2,000 people in this room, with each and every individual expressing themselves to the max.

The second room, playing hard trance and hi energy was just as electric, much smaller in size but offered just as an amazing sound rig, the third room played out Drum and Bass (which I couldnt even find all night ;) and the Bar arena was playing some electric jazz hip hop beatbreaking funk and scratch, groovy =).

The night couldnt be faulted in anyway, it was a night purely. The people were so up for it, it was amazing. The crowd would roar as new tunes came on, the best set of the night had to be from Dave Clark. Never before, have I heard such skill from the decks.

I can't wait for the next one, 14 october (check out the ush listings).

Great shouts to everyone I met, and respect to the other USHers who came, nice to see others from the hardcore scene with such great musical open-mindedness.
