Well then, had to take the day off college but I am now 100% feeling well and time to express my views. Arrived at Ingliston about 10.15, got in, put my jacket in the cloakroom, bought lightsticks etc. Took a place at the back of the main arena and some nice hard trancey stuff was belting out and then my fav (Product of Society) was dropped. I had ripped the DJ times from this months M8 as I hate not knowing who's on when. Looked up to the well set-up stage and thought, wait a minute, that aint Technotrance as M8 had said, Thats fuckin Sharkey. I had dedicated my night to be still dancin when Sharkey came on at 5am! But I had missed most of his set. I spent the night swaying from arena to arena as both were bangin but I cant really remember what each DJ I saw was like but the ones which stick in my head are: SHARKEY - Good for what I saw of him, POS was excellent and sounded as good live as on tape. BASSY G - Wax arena set was so bangin I could only last for about 20 mins before I had to take a rest. Top stuff. TECHNOTRANCE - Fine set with some older bouncy stuff and some nice trancy stuff. Played the tune ripping off Prodigy's everybody in the place, loved that. ULTRASONIC - Brilliant atmosphere at the beginning, really got the crowd going but I left them after a couple of tracks. ROTTERDAM TERROR CORPS - Well, what a show, I dont need to talk of them as there brilliance has already been explained on the list. Best PA to hit Ingliston since Ruffneck Alliance. LENNY DEE - Unfortunately all I can remember Lenny Dee for is his extremely poor mixing, spinbacks, scratching etc. Left me wondering why people call him God when he clearly isnt. I dont know why he was given a set in each arena, same goes for Bassy G. The time could, and should have been filled by more talented, happier DJs like Marc Smith, Brisk or Scott Brown. This set was a plie of shite although he did play a couple of nice hard tunes. TECHNOPIA - Not bad, but I cant help but feel I've heard it all before. They seemed to be taking a step back instead of trying new stuff which they should be doing. A couple of their tunes sounded a bit like rip-offs. FX - I agree that there could have been a couple more happy DJs but I feel that the timing of this set couldnt have been better. The place was dying and I had certainly lost the mood for dancing but FX slammed on all my favourite anthems (except Heart of Gold - shit) The night was just bursting out for these tunes and they seemed to lift the place, they certainly lifted me, but a lot of people would have been beyond the brink of recovery by that time. Excellent scratching but I feel he overdid it a bit. VINYLGROOVER - Nice happy closing set and for the first time ever I was dancing right till the very end. Overall a brilliant night, well set up and had a good flow to it (a couple more happy sets would have been nice but we dont want to over do it because as Smurf says they play all the same tunes) Top night and I couldnt pick a DJ or act who stole the show, all were great in their own ways (except Mr Dee) The overall night was (IMO) better than an indoor Rez. Roll on Summer. Thank you
