Right, I'll pick this one up with the arrival at the site with Tim [me bruvver], April [his partner] and Gary [Tivvy Posse]. For once the weather was not causing problems for brass monkeys and the gates opened on time. There were some small changes to the line up, but nothing major - with the main change being that Sy was playing in the middle of the night instead of 5-6 [which was a bit of bummer as it clashed with Easygroove] The vibe was hyping up in the usual wait til the security man gave the OK - and then that great moment when we all rush down to the front and give full expression to the max. I don't know who was playing first up, but the DJ Hixxy took over after a few minutes and we were off!! The night just really kicked from the word go and it seemed everyone was totally up for it [I know I was] Sharkey and Vibes continued the standard set and the place was rocking. Last Dreamscape I regretted not getting to the Drum n Bass Room so I made a point of getting up there for 45 mins of Nicky Blackmarket - the room was heaving and shaking and it really suited the smaller room well - I don't like dancing on carpet tho, I like to slide me feet and carpet makes it hard work - still.... At 11 I ducked out for the meetup, and it was real good to meet the people I'd only known before thro emails and websites - so I'll take a second to shout to Joe, Rolf, Simon, Barticle, Jon and all the other on-line ravers. Me mate Xylan turned up as well, the Taunton Posse were there and many other faces from previous events [but I missed Matt - were you there mate?] Then it was time for one of the highlights [again] for me - the DJ Easygroove and the MC Robbie Dee. The atmosphere there in the Old Skool Room was once again hyped to the highest and I worked meself so hard I just had to have a chill, a fag, a drink and ease the cramp in me calf muscles and I missed the 2nd meetup - doh! Xylan and Gary told me that I'd missed an absolute stormer from the Sy [we've come to expect nothing less, surely] but so it goes! Anyway, back to it, and Dougal played it hard and fast - mmmmmm! Off to the Drum n Bass Room again for the last few minutes of one of the the South West's finest - DJ Mastervibe, then Zinc, who played it a bit jazzy, not my favourite style, but it was a good opportunity to just gently rock for a bit and let some of the sweat dry off. Then it was over to Kenny Ken [who I haven't heard play for ages] who had everyone jumping, with reload after reload, and took me right back up again. In the main room now Seduction took over the decks and played a set the like of which I haven't heard him play for a while - nice one Seduction! Vinylgroover played the usual top notch set and the night was carried out by the man like the DJ Slipmatt - the fact that most of these DJ's have been top of the bill for as long as I've been raving is a massive tribute to their innovation and dedication, all respect to them and long may they prosper. I tell you what I'd like to see tho - a room at Dreamscape events for up and coming DJ's, who struggle to get a look in but deserve a bigger exposure - what do you reckon? Anyway, once again, too many people were sitting down at the end of the night! I just don't get it - I was near to my limit, yes, and positively dripping but I just HAVE to lift myself for one last effort, show respect for the DJ and the party crew and kick it to the very last drop - I can't do it any other way. Another TOTALLY WICKED Dreamscape night and I can't wait for the next [already!]. See you there?
