Overall a great night! There was some good music played, the lighting was fantastic, the décor was impressive, and the atmosphere was wonderful. The first thing that really hit me was the lighting - that green laser in the main arena hypnotised me! I found the weird Stephen King film on the screen at the back of the main arena a bit distracting though, because I don't like scary films (wimp!), although it was a nice idea. I loved the way the pattern and colour of the lights in the main arena kept on changing - in a lot of events it seems to be the same pattern all night. The second thing that hit me was the array of costumes on show. Not many people had dressed up, but those who had really made the effort. I loved the girl dressed as a nun (complete with smiley-face cross!), RaverJo's French Maid outfit (you go girl!), the two prisoners, and the wizard (thanks for letting me take your picture!). I also have to say thanks to everyone who came up to me during the night and said that they liked my Superwoman costume. It made it all worthwhile! Sticking with the costumes, congratulations to Kaos & Ethos for putting the entertainers in. Also congrats to them for the décor - the UV backdrops, balloon displays and drapes set the arenas off fantastically. It would have looked so dull without them! Oh, and of course the foot & mouth references all over the walls, and the stupid rhymes, especially the one in the girls loos: "When you sit upon this seat, mind the crabs, they jump six feet. If you think that this is high, try next door.the fuckers fly!". Now onto what REALLY matters - the music. I have to say I didn't think it was as good as the Crash club tour last December, but it was still great to hear some new styles. I'd not heard much Nu Skool Gabber so it was an interesting experience to hear loads of it (during Dolphin's set I think?!). I have to say I was VERY disappointed with Vibes. He has been getting really stale lately and this set was no exception. So I left that arena and got caught up in the Techno of the next room! The atmosphere in the Techno arena was certainly helped by Snow and a few others who went bananas throughout :) Thanks to the guy who invited me up onto the stage platform to dance manically with him - I really enjoyed myself, even if my earplugs did fall out!! I felt that although there was several good sets in the main arena, too much old stuff was being played there, which is why I spent most of the night with the Techno, and even the Techno got a bit purist for me at one point, so I took the opportunity for a well earned rest! However, having just said that, I did enjoy the music overall. It was fantastic to be able to stomp really hard to lots of hard Techno and Gabber, and to join the main arena at 1:00 to have a nice bop to Freeform old and new during Energy's set! One little moan I have to get off my chest - security. Now I'm really appreciative of them and I think for the most part they were friendly and going beyond their call of duty with regards to looking after us. But there was one guy who just kept asking me to get up and move! I don't have a clue why, because every time I sat down and rested for a bit, he came along and asked Stuart (Enigma, my boyfriend) to take me 'outside and get some fresh air'. If I was on drugs I'd see his point, because they don't really want you falling asleep for your own safety. But because I was straight (and I told him this) I just couldn't figure out why he kept asking me to move. I wasn't even in the way of anyone either! Still, I'm sure he had his reasons, whatever they were, and if it was my fault then I send my apologies. The last set I spent in the queue for our stuff :( However I was able to catch about 10 mins of Loftgroover and 5 of Kaos. Both were good, with Jonny playing his new dark stuff and Lofty playing some amazing Speedcore. After an eventful journey home (including 2 hours in the freezing cold of London Bridge station!), I collapsed with Stuart onto his bed. After a bit of a chat about the night we fell fast asleep until 2pm!! Shouts - Enigma (love yooooou!), Ethos, Kaos, Energy (Mini-Me!), Snow (HAKKE!), Ponder, Happybounce, Pete & Emma, Dave, Twigg & Becki (nice to meet you finally!), RaverJo (love the outfit!), Rich & Jo, the guy with 'Blatantly Spangled' written on his back (sorry mate can't remember your name!), and anyone else who said that my costume looked great :) Hope everyone enjoyed the night and I'll see you all at Future Dance 6!
