United States of Hardcore
This rave being the 1st aniversery of me raving for one year, this one was pretty special to me. Last year raindance opened my mind to something pretty special, but i was dubious about the venue. After all the drome had been utopic to me and Brixon seemed very forboding. But never the less i missioned my way up from the south and started quewing outside with lots of other energetic looking people. After having a intersting conversation with a wind up soldier and being told by the bouncers that my chocker that i was wearing was too spikey, i fanally was allowed in. Being Hardcore all the way, i made a bee-line for the hardcore room, but was surprised to find it a bit to Drum and Bass enspired. Still not to be deterred, i went a bought myself a dummy to prevent me from chewing my jaw apart and started to explore the rave. The organisers had obviously pulledout all the stops and i was very impresed with all the stalls selling their different wares (or as some people would call it tat) after finding the Hard house room and finding it practically deserted, i decide to return to the hardcore room. I stayed in here for a while and danced around with the other Loons for a while, but the interesting sounds coming from the main area were sounding appealing so i decided to check out the old skool room. I was very impressed, the room was mahusive, and the sounds that were coming out were fantastic. The vibe in the room was absolutly chinging, ebven at the begginging when the room was not that full. I flited about from room to room all night but stayed in the old skool room for most of the night due to the fact that the sounds were so banging. The main area may have been 90% MC free but this just allowed us to totally focus on the music. By around 3AM i was totally nackard, but determined to keep going to 6. When the rat pack came on, the room nearly took off, ive never seen the room move so fast. By the end i was totally worm out and very very fucked, and after collecting lots of flyers from outside wandered towards Brixton station and met up with my Brother who gave me and his friend a lift home. All in all the Hardcore was a bit disapointoing, but this was irelivent due to the fact the the underground sound coming from the old-skool room was so pukka. THat u raindace, u pulled it off again in style. It is nice to see that a rave that caters for the DJ's and Mcs trying to break it onto a scene which has lots of old time players and veterans is able to compeate with the big players like One nation and Slamin vinyl.
