Elation - First birthday bash @ Channel club (Vauxhall) I was looking foward to this event more then anything! And was not disapointed!! Got to Vauxhall, we're we met Sam, then went outside Vauxhall station, and met the rest of the USH crew! Started walking over the bridge when Paul (ponder) approached us, and said about a bomb scar! So after waiting around for a while, i finally got in at half 10 quarter to 11 to catch the end of a good uplift set! But after uplifts short set come Mr Promotor HB, played an absolute blinding set, fresh new, and contained many breaks! He also dropped a tune, which he did also drop at Raindance, that got everybody goin!! After a wikkid HB set come my favroite DJ's set E-N-E-R-G-Y! PLayed an absolutly wikkid set, freeform (of course) and the crowd re-acted brilliently to it! Everyone loved it! Dropped many favroits in! Up next was the DJ ham, on behalf of blatent beats, his first time playing at Elation, and had a hard act to follow! But he dropped many classics, and the crowd were in a frenzy, and from what i remember the old skool room was empty cos they was all cramed into the hardcore room to listen to Ham! Dropped classics like love of my life, shooting star! And had the vocal talents of the one and only STORM!!! Had a superb MC set! after that thrilling ham set, was Mr promotor Sonic, playing his nu skool gabba! Was a wikkid set from what i herd, but i went to get a drink half way through, and was drawn in by the sounds of Chris E Manic B2B with uplift in the old skool room! The old skool room was actually quet full, and was a wikkid set, dropped tunes like take me away, which sent the crowd into a mass frenzy! I also (unfortunatly) missed ponders set because the old skool vibe had control of me, and i stayed to listen to squirell! He played some excellent old skool, dropping tunes like, let me be your fantasy, and captain of the ship etc! I made it back into the hardcore room to witness an excellent Sharkey set! He played his new stuff, and went donw a treat with the crowd, the MC's were also wikkid as well! And keeping with that MC lineup, the accompanied Ponder and HB on there second sets (though i saw ponder on the decks for the majority) and both played wikkid sets! Dropping some pure classics from 94/95 breakbeatage!! The night was excellent, well ran, and promoted, very well organised, and its a shame it might possible close =( The atmosphere was 100% freindly, and 100% noize! The only bad side to the night, it i think i had my drink spiked, and spent a few 10 mintues in the tiolets being sick! =( But that wasnt to put me off! Big shouts to, Quincy, Sam, grob le frog, dairymilk warrior, Chedda, danger, HB, Ponder, sonic, Storm, Elmo, the rest is a bluur, but shouts to you (cos im sure i missed loads out)!
