Oh my f**king gosh. This was my first rave and I wasn't disappointed. Me and Mad man arrived at Victoria for the meetup but by 8, apart from someone I was going to meet later on in the night, no one we knew was there. We decided to go straight to Vauxhall and wait there. First person to come was Nutta, she was well dressed for the occasion so big respect. Couple of other people turned up but hardly anyone we knew, so we decided to walk down when Mayhem turned up. We got in the queue and still no ush crew. Marshy phoned them and apparently they were lost, so we said wait at the station and Marshy and myself will go and get them. We get to the station and after another phone call we find out they are in the queue of the club, bastards!! Anyway once the doors opened we got in fairly quickly, as the people who had no tickets had to go somewhere else. After a good frisk by the security and my deodorant being taken, it was time to enter the venue. The first room you walked into was the hard house room, which was very small and the few times we popped in there, no one or very few people were dancing, which makes you wonder if that was the right style to have in there =D In the hardcore room, Vinal and Dan Devotion were ripping it up. This room for me, didn't go off until the arrival of Brisk, Hixxy and Storm. Brisk's set was good because it was hard and fast, and even to finish off he played some nu style which was a good change. Hixxy's set was a wicked set full of new material which was nice to hear, tracks like ‘Wanting to get high’ making me rush to the max =D. Set of the night though for me has to go to Sharkey, really amazing set, which contained a lot of breakbeats and was really pleasing to hear after kickdrum action all night. Best track he played for me was ‘Sound assassin’, which is such an amazing track. The disappointment of the night for me was the old skool room. A quick look at the times and a little message to say that Nicky Blackmarket wasn't going to turn up, which was a big disappointment as I was really looking forward to this set. And also through the night, it was apparent that the Ratpack weren't coming either and that was a big disappointment as well because I have always wanted to see them live. Apart from that though, the rest of the sets were amazing. My fav actually being MC Ethos who stood in as he played some wicked tracks that I really liked. I caught some of Aphrodite’s set, which started good but then he started playing jump up dnb which I’m not a huge fan of. Energy who played some proper old skool, to my surprise really rocked the place and it was nice to hear a dj who usually only plays freeform to go and play some nice old skool, wicked. Caught some of Altern-8 and they played a really old set, which was interesting. I couldn't dance to it though, but they did get the room rammed. Caught a little bit of Vibes set, which was wicked breakbeat classics. All in all a wicked night, top quality production so well done to the Future Dance guys. BIG BIG shouts to : Marshy, Dairymilk, Kev, Joe R and his mate, Mad Man, Ponder and HB, Merlin, Cris-EE, Gingerbread man, Vibes and Sharkey who I got my pic with, nice one Marshy for taking these pics! Shout out to everyone else I met, it was really nice to actually meet everyone finally!!! See you all at the next FD !!
