United States of Hardcore

Elation 6 - Chunnel Club, Vauxhall 5th-Oct-2001

Well what can I say? F**KING WICKED!!!

The night started with a pre meet up at Waterloo, until we all decided to make our way to Namcos. We all pissed about in there, and we even had a bowling game full of cheating shenanigans ! (yes u Kev :oP)

We then made our way to Vauxhall and met up with other USH'ers at the venue.

Queued for about 10 mins and got in at 10:15 which was good going. The hardcore arch wasn’t open straight away, but as soon as those doors opened you knew it was going to be a good night!

First on the wheels of steel was new Elation promoter U4EA mixing up a nice warm up set, and getting the crowd going nicely!

Then from one U4EA to another, but this time it wasn’t the DJ it was the crowd. Representing the sound of raver baby was of course the on like Hixxy. He stepped up on the decks, and straight away the Elation possie was buzzin, me included! He started off with a bit of raver baby, dropping choons like "why oh why" and "castles in the sky" then he moved onto some classics like "forever together". The crowd was going nuts, and Storm was hyping us all up to the max ! I went absolutely bonkers during this set, and it was by far the best Hixxy set in years !

Next up was HB and Ponder who in my opinion played a blinding set, and are more then worthy for sets at UD ! They played a nice variety of tunes, included the Hatrixx one (dunno what its called) and my fav this year ‘Faces of angels’ ! The crowd responded well, and Elmo did yet another top job of MC'ing, definitely a trio for years to come !

Then up was Breeze and UFO. Played a brilliant set, but I was so f**ked by this point that I sat 50% of it out. They dropped some wicked stuff, like the new Infinity tracks, and they also dropped the new Jelly baby track. Yet another blindin set, with yet again Storm hyping the crowd to the max!

Then on the wheels of steel was Lukozade! He played one of the best sets mainly cos it has so much variety, with a mix of different tunes ! I went mad when he dropped the Terminator tune on GBT! Wicked tune ! But the night seemed to be ending but the atmosphere and vibe was still strong!

Up next was In Effect, played a nice set, again a set of variety, and a break from the everyday hardcore tunes u hear! Nice set.

But then the last set of the night. it had gone to quick, and the place was still rocking. Anyhow Uplift still managed to make a very tired crowd rock till the very end ! He played a wicked set, playing some of his own stuff, and playing stuff from Evolution and new Infinty! Yet another wicked set!

I went through into the hard house arch, and it was definitely more packed then the old skool arch at E5, which was nice to see ! The turn out was good, but not good enough i hear! Either way, the place was rocking, and there was a genuine vibe, and a superb family atmosphere!

Overall a absolutely wicked night, definitely my best night, and definitely the best Elation to date! It was brilliant, hats off the HB, Ponder and U4EA for making this night so good!

Big shout outs too HB, Ponder, U4ea, Kev Voltage for his cheating during bowling...ha ha ha..., iwolf, sweetstar, Rave girl, Joe R, my dancing partner for most the night Dairymilk warrior (and his wicked T-shirt), grob lefrog (and his t-shirt), MDMA, hatrixx and his bird, mayhem and the rest of the EHC crew, chedda, merlin, astraboy, flipdee and hanny, Ade, Sam, the birthday boy Desire, Phick, Paul (ush) A.B, vicky, Quincy, minxx, Little Amis and stargazer and all the DJ's and MC's on the night. And anyone else I spoke to and may have forgotten.
