Future Dance 7 - Bagleys
22nd-Oct-2001
Rich picked myself n Part-e up from my house @ about 6:40 pm and we headed 2 his house. We had a taxi booked for 7:30 from a nearby pub and after waiting till about 7:50 we decided 2 give them a ring, to our surprise they had us booked for 5:30 for some fucked up reason !
We eventually managed 2 arrive @ the train station where we immediately bumped into Shaun (The Nutta!). After explaining why we were late to Shaun we decided to try and find Lee UHF and crew. After walking to the platform and back it was clear they had not yet arrived but then, as promised we saw Chedda’s beaming grin!
After sayin Hi to Lee UHF, Chedda, Martin Space, Jonny and Stu, we headed for the train. Had a good laugh on the long journey to London, but was very relieved and excited to arrive in London. After the (power) walk (for some reason) and a joint or 2 we arrived @ Bagleys. The queue didn’t seem too long and didn’t take us long to reach the front (30-40 mins, but it was about 11:20 when we arrived).
We got into Bagleys @ about 12 and headed straight to the main arena (via the Cloak room (via the bar :o))). On reaching the main arena there was some confusion as to whether it was the main arena (mainly due its size!). It didn’t take us long to lose a person with Part-E being the victim. Me, Rich and Shaun decided to have a stomp while we waited for Part-E to find us, and for some reason Dair was still on the dex. I think it was around 12:40 when UFO stepped up to begin his assault of Raverbaby and New Infinity choonage and was soon followed by Hixxy.
Part-E found us and we bumped into Slammin Sam, who quickly disappeared 2 find Paul to get a photo of my head! After which Ham took the honour on the decks. Ham proceeded to spin some of the more classic 96-97 choonage and from what I heard was a good set. Off we went to the USH meet-up and met some wicked people (too many yous to mention as Storm would say!)
On arriving back @ the main arena it was clear Brisk had took over on the 1s & 2s and he proceeded to rip it up with the new Next Gen material. (Can’t remember much of the Madam Stah bird though). After a while we couldn’t resist the temptation any longer, so off we headed for the Clarkee old skool set. On arriving we could see Sharkey on the Mic and this got us straight onto the dance floor! We stomped like mad bastards for the rest of the set (having the odd break to laugh at Lee and Martin dancing and wrestling Gabba stlyee). THIS WAS THE SET OF THE NIGHT FOR ME! WICKED.
On heading back to the main arena it was time for Mark Smith and Sharkey. This was wicked from what I can remember but was overshadowed by the insane Clarkee set! But we stomped any way! :o) For the last hour (quite mashed by now) we headed into the old skool room for a while and Nicky Blackmarket was playing a blinder, respect.
For the last part we headed back to see out the night with a bit of Energy and Kaos. Can’t remember a lot of this set apart from ‘Fuck Macarena’ as the last choon! This got everyone stomping and ended the night on a massive high!
Nice one Future dance crew!
In summary an absolute blinder of a night. I wasn’t impressed by Bagleys or the sound system but the atmosphere and the people I met easily made up for it !
Massive shouts to Part-E and Rich B (as always), Shaun, Martin Space, Lee UHF, Chedda, Jonny and Stu! I couldn’t try to mention others cos I know I’d forget someone.
BRING ON FD 8 !
