After getting to Jesters at about 8.00 and setting up the Mini Disc recorder to record the sets, we had a mess about on the decks trying to get the facking CD players to work. All this sorted, we went outside and waited for the doors to open. After being greeted by the friendly security guards, we went inside to hear Brisk banging out the hardhouse. I'm not a huge fan of hard house, but the set Brisk played was really good. The club was quite empty at the start, but at about 10 oclock it started to fill up and the dancefloor got rocking. Next up was Sketchy and Compulsion. I was surprised to hear them playing hard house as I thought, and hoped that they were playing hardcore. Never the less, they played a good set, with Compulsion scratching it up nicely! The dancefloor was now full, but you could tell that they were waiting for one thing..........HARDCORE. DJ Strike followed Sketchy and Compulsion with a wicked set, full of quality tunes and excellent scratching. This was definitely the set of the night in my opinion, and the dancefloor were loving it. I look forward to hearing DJ Strike being booked at more events all over the country. Now it was time for DJ Hixxy !! Starting his set with some of his new tunes, and a lot of CD's, he eventually began playing older hardcore including ‘Love Of My Life’ and ‘Toytown’ and the crowd responded really well, singing along to all the songs. This finished the night off superbly with Wotsee and Whizzkid back to back on the mic. As always, top sets from all DJ's and MC's and all in all, a fantastic night once again from the X-Plosion boys.
