Slammin' Vinyl - The Sanctuary 10th-Nov-2001

This is the first time I felt I've been compelled to write a review for a rave, but this truly was a wicked, stomping night and it needed to be said! It was my first anniversary [my first rave was SV 11/11/00] and I really couldn't have hoped for a better night to celebrate!

Apart from my hellish journey up there [fucking coach organisers/drivers couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery... and the driver drove round MK for about half an hour before he figured out the way... jesus! :D ) this was a hassle-free event and well worth the mission.

Firstly, the venue. Wow. I didn't think I'd see a venue done up like that at any event other than a Future Dance, it was truly beautiful, and spinny as fuck into the bargain! The lazers later on in the night were fantastic as well, and the acoustics couldn't really be faulted in my view. The only slight complaint I have was it seemed to be very cold in places but its better to be cold than hot I always feel. Maybe thats why I never hear any old-skool at the Sanc ;)

I arrived and Billy Bunter was playing a wicked upfront set, a wicked start to the night! Sharkey and Dougal were superb as well, but the highlights were Scott Brown and Sy for me. I feel it was a mistake having those two on last though. Maybe have Dougal last and Scott Brown, Sy before him ? I do wish Scott Brown would play a new set though, not just the same old in a different order [although its always nice to hear that nu-style rip of 'Cloudbusting' by Kate Bush ;))) ] but I'll wait for the tape pack before I pass judgement. Sy, as ever, ripped the fucking place up. I can't remember anything of his set I was loving it so much [apart from that fantastic first choon he always seems to start with these days, and the Scott Brown mix of break of dawn]!

I'm glad that Slammin' have sorted it out, this was the first time I'd been to the sanc since April and I thought that could have been a whole lot better so thanks Slammin` for getting back on the right track! Roll on NYE and FORCE + STYLES !

Shouts to: Leeroy and his double horn, The Don, Hel, Kate, Cat, Mad scots crew Dan, George Darf [I know its not I just cant help thinking it is], Tom U4EA [i'm glad i saw you hehe], the rest of the ush.net ppl ever and all the Future Dancers that were there.

Extra special shout to my dear friend Matt White [are you pingu/PLURraver?? why the fuck didn't you tell me??! :) ] who's last rave this was cos he's going to Australia. If you know him you probably won't believe that but this was the end. Thanks for taking me to that first rave mate even though i was shitting it I'll always love you for it, amongst everything else. I'll miss you man....keep on raving in your heart :D
