United States of Hardcore
I arrived early at around 7:30pm. This was partly the fact that i live no less than 10 miles from the Royal Bath & West Showground in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, and that i wanted to see dj Hixxy, who was stupidly on first. I escaped the security quickly, and entered the complex which i must say is huge!!!. 7 arenas of hardcore, drum & bass, techno, old skool, garage, logical progression drum & bass and the chill out arena by discordia which is very relaxing. Hixxy mixed and scratched up a wicked set for the early birds which contained anthems such as visa's'can't stop raving' and 'don't go away'. Next up was sharkey and he started with his stomping tune 'distant dreams'. After a couple of beers i ventured into arena 1 to be greeted by dougal who in my eyes dropped the set of the night, containing anthems such as 'i've got a feeling' and the great 'love of my life'. Top buzz was up next and he recreated the vibe with tunes such as edge 1's 'compounded'. The next dj i remember was sy and what a set this was. He was recording the 'live @ dreamscape' album and along side mc storm and tunes such as 'shooting star' and 'sensation' this was a wicked set. I did notice two downers though. The first was the not so clear sound system and the second was finding out that mc's ruff and hyper-d had both died suddenly. My heart goes out to both the familys and 'cry' the charity that deals with this type of death. R.I.P men!!!. Wicked sets followed from rap, brisk/vinyltrixter, vinylgroover etc. I spent most of my time in the chill out arena as i was so hot and tired!!!! I left the complex at 6:30am. Overall a wicked one from esp promotions, but a shame about the next one on new years eve. Suffolk, do you know how far that is from somerset ravers!!. See ya till next time.
