Future Dance Futurizm - Colloseum, Vauxhall 9th-Feb-2002

My first rave of the year, and my first Future dance event ever! I wanted to go and check out what all the hype was about....and believe me, I was not disapointed!!

Got to the Colleseum about 9:45, with a massive queue, and late entry I wasn’t in till about half 10. I walked in to see the best club iv ever seen, I terms of layout and chill out etc.....it’s a really nice, swanky club! :o)

Robbie Long was up on the decks when I got in, I had a walk round, and a nice warm up stomp. Robbie long played a pretty stomping set, not sure how to describe it, but it seemed fitting for the warm up set!

Up next was Jedi and Stormtrooper, I was looking forward to set almost as much as Energy’s and Koas’s sets, ‘cos I havnt seen these boys in action before....and yet again I was not disappointed! Its was one of the best sets of the night with out a doubt, displaying there own material, and really getting the crowd going! They droped Sy’s new tune as well, that seemed to rock the entire dance floor!

Up next on the wheels of steel was the AMAZING sounds of the one and only Sharkey! He played a tasty lil set, whilst dropping tunes like Now control etc, I enjoyed this set, and I think the rest of the crowd did too ;o)

I also went for a wonder during the Sharkey set, into the old skool room, it felt a good temperature in there, and had a wicked view as well, up on the decks was jonah, who was dropping some nice old skool classics like the ride, in effect etc.

It was now 1:00 and I dashed straight into the hardcore room to catch the DJ Energy dream FM set. One I really didn’t want to miss! The most memorable set of the night with out a doubt...was pure class and I more then enjoyed stomping to the old classics, such as bonkers anthem, wing of love, here I am, etc etc!!

After this set, and due to the absence of a couple of DJ’s was Jedi stormtrooper and sharkey....they played a mixed set, with a bit of gabbam freeform and new upfront hardcore!

At about half 3 up on the decks was the one like devastate...he was playing a gabba set, and not being a gabba fan, I found my good friend Marshy, to go and chill out in the old skool room with, I stayed in there enjoying some real classics, and even playing out some brand new stuff!

It was now 5 o’clock, the set I’d been waiting for, I was after some kaoscore!!! :o) Kaos on the wheels of steel, playing the last set of the night, casper sharkey and Ethos at the ready, and we were off! The best set of the night with out a doubt, playing the usual tunes, and making the crowd stomp like crazy!! But he tore the house down when he dropped Mad World! I was lucky enough to be up on stage when he dropped this tune, and to see all the ravers go crazy like that, was amazing!! :):o)

Truly was a fantastic night, and my favourite rave to date....cant wait till the next futurizm or till FD8!!!
