Wooooowwweeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! What a totally fookin blinding night!!! Totally not what I expected - I thought Frantic's music policy consisted of BEEPBEEPBANGBANGHOOVERBEEP playing continuously all night long - but how wrong was I!!! We arrived at the Sanctuary at about 9.30pm and went straight into the main arena. It was pretty dead, not much of an atmosphere either. We stayed in there for about half an hour, then decided to venture upstairs to the smaller room. What a change! The dj was (i think) Ed Real - and he was ripping the place apart, playing uplifting banging house classics like Felix - "Dont you want my loving" and many more that I can't remember! We stayed in there for about an hour - lovin every minute of it! The little room was boiling hot as usual, but everyone in there was havin it, going mad jumpin around - it was wicked!! We then went downstairs at about 11pm to catch a bit of Lisa Lashe's set. I'd previously heard her play before at Eden in Ibiza - and didn't think much of her style, it was a bit too fast and hard for me (not enough cheese). Once again to my suprise, the night just got better and better. Lisa was building the corwd up and up - mixing hardhouse with zillions of hoovers into powertrance. It was at this time that three enormous lasers came down from the ceiling - the crowd loved it!! It was such a good feeling to be there at that time, it reminded me of NYE! Next on were the Tidy Boys - my top set of the night. Carried on from Lisa Lashes with the Hardhouse - it was a bit more trancey, more uplifting (just how I like it). They dropped some blinding tunes such as Delerium "Silence" remix, IIO "Rapture" remix and plenty more that I dont know the names of! Next up was Anne Savage (much to the delight of Jonathan, Smithers and probably every lad in there). She played a good set - it was a bit too hardhousey for my liking. I did enjoy it, but by this time I was getting pretty tired, and didn't have much energy left for dancing. The Lab 4 live PA was very...er...different! For anyone who hasn't seen these guys, they are like heavy metal rockers - long mullet-style haircuts, tattoos all over their arm etc. You'd expect them to come on and start playing the air guitar, but instead they jump about on stage playing keyboards to some evil house! They started off pretty trancey - lots of hoovers and big breaks etc. Towards the end their stuff just got faster and faster - Hardcore seemed like handbag house compared to this stuff! It was pure mad music - I couldn't take the pace I'm afraid to say, and spent most of their set sitting down on the floor! The poor sod who went on after these 2 was Andy Farley - and although this man plays some amazing music, he couldn't really do much for the crowd after Lab 4 had ripped them apart! It was like going from Gabba to 2-step garage, the crowd seemed kinda deflated, and no matter how hard Mr Farley tried, he couldn't match the pace that Lab 4 had set. By this time it was about 5pm...I was so tired I had no energy to move, let alone dance. We decided to call it a night and made our way home down the M1 :-) Yet again another suprisingly wicked night. I couldn't help noticing how friendly and polite the Sactuary security and doormen were on Saturday. Such a contrast to when I've been there for hardcore/d+b nights! Shouts to: Jonathan (who done it?!!) Smithers (Lightweight!) Chedda, Summy and Wotsee!!
