United States of Hardcore
What more could a Surrey lad ask for, then for a rave in his home county, on a Wednesday night, with a wicked line up? Got there at about 9, and after a lot of hassle from the bouncers I finally got in ! Seemed pretty empty to start off with, but had a nice feel to it, sound system was loud and clear, the backdrops made it feel a bit like Future Dance, and just felt good to have a rave on a Wednesday night ! Sat down for the first hour, as there wasn’t many people dancing, and up on the decks was the sounds of Edge and Narcotic, banging out some wicked hard NRG and freeform sounds. Was an interesting set, with unheard of tunes, but was pretty banging none the less! 10 o’clock and all the way from Bournemouth town representing the sounds of JDS was the one like Stormtrooper ! Playing a wicked hardcore set, with tune from JDS, Phase 4, Nu energy and Sy’s tune Aural Illusion getting dropped also. The Guildford crew seemed to be loving the hardcore, almost as much as I was ! 11 o’clock now, pub closing time, and the place just seemed to get more rammed, and up next on the decks was the promoters turn, Tazz and Concept. And after hearing these boys at a past Futurizm, I knew I wasn’t going to be disappointed....and I wasn’t ! With the venue starting to fill up a lot more, and lots of people on the dance floor, it started to feel like a proper rave ! They played a wicked freeform set, and also played some up front hardcore too, wicked set that really got the Guildford crowd going ! With most the Guildford pubs and clubs closed, Bo Jangles seemed very rammed, not forgetting it was a weekday night too. But stepping up on the decks was the pair I’d been waiting for, the boys from Wax City, Sharkey and Kaos ! I knew these two were going to tear the dance floor apart, especially with the lyrical talents of the Ethos backing them up...and I wasn’t disappointed. Tunes like “Mad world”, “Bad Ass” ,“Now Control” and “Bass Odity” being dropped, the crowd were loving it, and so was I ! It really felt like a proper rave, didn’t quiet have the atmosphere, but with a nice happy and easy going crowd, lots of lovely looking ladies, and plenty of banging hardcore, it couldn’t get much better! Last set of the night was from the Mexican, playing hard house Nukleuz tunes...didn’t stay for this set, but it seemed to be hard hard house ! The night was at an end for me, and I think it was a lasting impression on the Guildford town proving hardcore was definitely back, bigger and stronger then before! Top night, and big respect goes to the Invasion crew! Shouts on the night go to – Madderz, Fanny-C, Dusty Vixen, Snips, Neotech, Casper, Concept, Ethos,(your new fav club) Sharkey (welcome back to surrey mate), Kaos (glad you made it, despite back problems), Jedi, Ade, and the Yately raving crew, everyone else, and again big shout to the Invasion crew! See you at the next one on 5th June !!! Let the Invasion begin!
