United States of Hardcore
Organised Chaos is a under 18 event in Rugely at a venue called the Red Rose Theatre. But this under 18 event is like no other! I arrived about 7:15 to the Red Rose Theatre and it was a large looking building from the outside, there was a fairly big queue starting up, what amazed me as I looked at the queue is that nearly every kid there had either a whistle or a horn! As I walked in I was stood in a large room with plenty of seating to the left, toilets on the right and in the corner the dj decks, I walked in to hear Dj Voltage playing a classic Hardcore set! Heard him play Triple J - Passion and a few other tunes from that era which for the life of me I cant remember! Theres a small corridor and on the left is the Drum and Bass, Garage, and Hard House! To the right was the Hardcore arena, I walked in and I was honestly shocked, it was just like walking into the fast-track arena of Slammin' (except everyone was smaller, younger and obviously it wasnt as big). There where loads of kids in there jumping about going mental blowing whistles and all the rest, every raver in there must of had a pair of glow sticks each!. The decor in the room was good, loads of smiley faces and UV-type designs covered the walls. The lighting was impressive with strobes and bright coloured lighting filling the arena and also a nice smoke machine. The sound system was nice and loud but went horribly distorted at times and also had a nice 'hmmmmmmmm' noise throughout the night, although this didnt seem to bother the ravers! What also amazed me is as I walked in Dj Cruze was on the decks playing Nu Style Gabba and the ravers where absolutly loving it, Cruze played the logical song remix and a few other Nu Style tunes! (My memory is awful even tho after the set I said I was going to do a review and named some of the tracks he played!) Also I just have to say what a amazing bloke Dj Cruze is, really superb mixing and scratching. This bloke should be playing at Slammin *cough cough* lol [/end of private joke] I wandered into the other room which catered for the Drum and Bass, Garage and Hard House lot, this arena was small but there where a lot of ravers getting down to the Hard House being played, the lighting and sound where good in this room considering the size and the decor was flowing! Didnt spend much time in this room! Went back into the Hardcore room as Rizla Dizla was chatting over either Speedy B or Mozz (cant remember who played next). Whoever was playing played a happy set. Rizla Dizla defently impressed on the mic doing some vocal scratching and also plenty of ryhmes! After a short trip to the off licence we came back just as Voltage and Compulsion where playing! Kev started off with one his tunes from electric city project and played a rocking set full of uplifting UK Hardcore including Droptop and Stay Here Forever. The younger ravers where really packed out the dance floor for this and Kev Voltage could be seen dancing and jumping about behind the decks. Compulsion as well was defently impressive playing a few tunes i'd never heard before and a few tunes which where totally head boggling. Respect! After this was the main man himself, Dj Wiggi, the dance floor was packed out by this point with everyone knowing this was the final hour the crowd where really up for it and going mental! Gazy J was MC'ing and hyped up the crowd well! Wiggi played Deep Inside, Shooting Star (which everyone went mental too) and half way through his set Wiggi turned into a stage dancer, running onto the front of the stage and dancing like a loon for a minute or so, respect! He finished on Masters of Ceremony - Under Control, quality Gabba tune to finish with! I was really impressed with the night over all, there was a mixture in the ages of the people in the crowd (13 - 17) and the vibe in there all night was really good, towards to end of the night even I was shaking my thing on the dance floor! Respect to Wiggi for putting on a quality u18 event! Shouts too: Thumpa, Gillard, Hiney, Wiggi, Cruze, Compulsion, Voltage, OliG, Rizla Dizla!
