I arrived at the Void at around 9:30; there was a queue, which I waited in for about 10 minutes with some friends I had seen towards the front. I got a drink and went straight down to the techno arena where Dolphin was playing a bangin set accompanied by MC Easy. By the time Dolphin’s set had finished the club had filled up quite rapidly and was looking good. The trance arena was also looking good and after finally escaping the waffle from the toilets, Vortex was on the decks and was playing some absolute bangin techno hard trance. Sharkey & Kev Energy were also playing a good set but I had to hear Producer & Radium who didn’t disappoint. Simon Underground’s set was ok and Tuggie did some impressive scratching. Scorpio & Mark EG Played the last sets. Unfortunately I missed Mark EG’s but Scorpio’s was amazing. Conclusion: North have high standards and certainly managed to throw a good party, as always, with some impressive music; but in my opinion the best set of the night was by far Vortex’s. Thanks to the ever up for it crowd at North (no competition) the atmosphere was spot on. North will be hosting part one of their 6th birthday at the Void on Friday 14th March and part 2 on Friday 18th April 2003. Shouts to Jay, Mick Heath, Chedda, Zoe, Baz, Sarah (Worcester), Sandy Plats, Nicky Durnan, Beaver, Andy & Rhea, Lee, Clint, Martin, Mark, Pski, Paula and all the Stoke crew.
