United States of Hardcore
Due to the fact I was so smashed I remembered nothing of round one,so I was determined that round two of Hardcore Heaven vs Slinky was going to be a night to remember!! My group shared a taxi to get to the Opera House and due to me forgetting my ticket,we didn’t arrive til 10pm. So, with all going well(!) we got in just as Kevin Energy was kicking off. As usual, Mr Energy was in fine form and I found just enough space in the jam -packed main room to nod my head, it was so busy!! I had a sit down and a drink whilst the surprisingly dirty hard house sounds of Amber D/Tara Reynolds boomed, a bit slow for me but not bad background music. I don’t remember the exact order but for Sy, Styles, Scott Brown and Seduction I found a point on one of the podiums, and not wanting to lose my slot (I had enough room to go mad this time), I stomped away until Mark EG came on, when I stopped for a well deserved rest. I sat on the balcony overlooking the main room as the Mark EG set played out, a real return to form for the hard trance favourite. I was amazed by how much the crowd were up for it and all night you could tell the MCs were loving the reaction the crowd was giving them. A brief trip into the 2nd room showed that the ravers were enjoying the old skool sounds too. I got my energy together and headed down the stairs for the final set (which I’d hoped would be Brisk and Wottsie) to rave to Breeze’s anthems including one of my favourites at the moment, Recon’s Baby you know you’re mine. It was a good finish to a stomping night. Bring on round 3!!
