The whole night exceeded my already high expectations. Oh what a night!! Okay..first of all I went with Peter to meet KRS & BUG in London, went back to my house, then everyone started to arrive!! Everyone was getting really very excited! At last we all left, me, alison, peter, andrew, jo, Rich-e, jo(blonde), jon, alister, bug, KRS, stuart, lizzie and Stephy! We walked down to the station screaming and shouting, we..er "I" wanted the whole world to know that we were going to SLAMMIN'! woohoo!! Okay.. arrived at KingsX station and had a huuuuuge meetup with all the other ushrooms! It was brilliant to see everyone again! And get this.. this uni friend comes up to me and goes "KEV! I didn't know you were a raver!" Turns out he is too,, and we had been friends for two years, but had never divulged our out of school time activities :) Scary isn't it! When we got to Bagleys, there was a huuge queue going right round the building and down! Already we could hear the music blasting! In the queue we all chatted and chatted, until nearly 2hrs had gone past! We had missed Force & Styles and Dougal and the 11 O' Clock meetup! However by the time we did all get in, we were greeted by the sounds of Dj Vibes - woohoo! He played a 1998 set.. it went down really well, I heard no complaints! I then went off to buy my glowsticks, gloves and a horn! It was now time for the 1 O' Clock meetup! There were loads of people there! And just like the previous meetups, it got so many other ravers looking! We took some photos, chatted etc.! Then some of us decided that we wanted to go back in.. Brisk was playing a blinding set it was hard and the mixing was faultless. I would just like to point out tht the transition of the old skool arena with the garage arena was not as bad as I expected! It brought the garage music well away from the other arenas, so it was no longer between the hardcore & techno/trance arena. The old skool arena was excellent, it was right next to the chill-out (not that I went in there of course) I went down there for Jimmy J’s set which was supreme, found loads of the others down there too! Everyone was going totally mad.. especially the older ravers, and I can’t blame them at all, especially when 99 red balloons was dropped! Towards the end of the night a few of us trundled into the 6th Arena (Hard House/Trance). Joined to it was this really nice chill out! It was like an old Victorian pub, with brick walls, dim lighting and wooden chairs! I just couldn't believe we were in Bagleys, it was like we were transported to another world! Finally to end the night we all went back into the hardcore arena where sy & unknown were ripping up the floorboards in their usual mad style! Heart of Gold was rewound.. and everyone went BoNkErS!! It was brilliant!! I have to say the quality of the tracks played there that night was brilliant!!! I wish there was another this week! I would also love to know what the latest is with Bagleys and its license, because if that was the last Slammin@Bagleys..then there will be plenty of depressed ravers out there! Finally I have to apologise profusely to poor Shiva/Jessica. For outside in the queue I thought it would be funny to wind her up a little.. coz she really worships Slipmatt. I told her that he has an event up North to play later so he wont be playing his 4 O’clock slot. I told her that instead he has swapped with Dougal who was currently playing when we were in the queue. So when we got in and she found out otherwise .. she was absolutely thrilled. However..ironically Slipmatt didn't turn up, and we were both devastated :) er I mean :( Now just waiting for Hardcore Heaven - I predict that this is going to be a huge event, for everyone I have spoken to are going on account of the unique line-up! Even people that have not been for two years! It's going to be refreshing to see a solely hardcore event packed out!
